Unit 12 week 3/4

These were images that I found on google images I then used Photoshop to edit them in to a simple silhouette so that I could potentially use them as a reference image to help me build my model to get a good idea of the shape of my monster/beast model, I have seen many modelers do this in videos when they are creating a model that is uneven and have a lot of curves and bends such as a animal they will have a template of a side and front view of whatever they are modelling and use the template as a reference image to line up the model and make it symmetrical.

I think it would be good if I based my creatures body structure on a Elasmotherium which was a giant prehistoric rhino that had hair all over it’s body and had a ridiculously huge horn this giant extinct rhinoceros species was so bizarre that it would be referred to as a unicorn or Siberian unicorn the fact that it is referred after an actual mythical creature shows that it is a perfect animal to base my creature on whilst getting adding Ideas from other monsters, animals and creatures.

I then did a bit of research and found a tutorial that helped me properly set up my reference image and learned a few techniques while watching.

Using PowerPoint I put together a mood board with images of different creatures that I like or that has something in its design that I like and want to add on my model in someway.
ss79
Using my mood board I put together this in Photoshop to use like concept art to get an idea of  what I want my creature to look like by using parts of the other creatures that I really like.
