One of my favorite art styles for a game is from God of War 3, God of War 3 is a game based of Greek mythology and has art styles inspired by ancient Greece with a twist the game has dark and dull tone which is a reflection of the game itself, the designs of the characters have a realistic look to them even the monsters and creatures.
